That being said, CarPlay takes a little getting used to and you may/will have to fiddle with settings to get it to work for you. When you hit the voice button and do something like "call Jennifer" or "navigate to 100 main street" then you should get a clear siri response, if you don't, then CarPlay, for whatever reason, is not connected. Or maybe you need to look at your siri settings. Personally I find the iPhone map superior to the one you can plug in the SD slot, but it is nice to have for when you are stuck with-out cell coverage.
This is the V9 (not V6 card from the previous post) for post-Aug-2017 built 2018 GLC's - You can message the Seller to confirm correct UPDATED CARD for your MB - thru Aug 2017 builds have Updated V8 available:

2nd: When connected with the cable with CarPlay - the "Voice" button "should" pull up Siri on Audio 20....

While I agree that plugging the phone in every time is a great big PITA, I still do it as I like the apple maps. The traffic updates are at least as good as Waze but without burning up your phone.
