Acceleration

My GLC300 is currently in service for slow to no acceleration. It does this after the ABS light comes on and I come to a complete stop. The check engine light came on once but the ABS cane on several times. I almost got broad-sided. The dealer can’t find anything wrong and of course it’s not doing it when they’re driving it. This is a huge safety concern. What’s wrong? Fuel injectors? Why can’t they see that if so?

How full is your fuel tank when this happens ?, is it on its last 50miles ?
Very occasionally the fuel pump will fail, but only when tank near empty as it overheats, The fuel is used as a ‘coolant’ to keep the pump working properly. If you have the habit of running down the fuel level, you may accelerate the pumps failure.

Response to acceleration

Fuel level is fine and has never been low when this happens. The dealer just called and said they can’t reproduce and they’re not even showing any codes or messages ever coming up. So I’m going to pick up a scary car and pray I don’t have an accident. I’m not happy about this at all.

You say the ABS light comes on - does it do it because you just slammed on the brakes? If so - is it possible the pads are sticking to the rotor and resisting against the rotor when you take off again (i.e. not retracting)? If so - there would be no code and eventually they would retract, replicating what you're describing. If not mechanical at rotor/pad - perhaps the brake booster is staying engaged. Hope this helps them diagnose it.
