Service B and unrelated suspension oddity...
I need to go for a service B in a couple of weeks - any deals out there in Chicago metro area for a good discount? Which dealer has the best pricing in your experience?
The unrelated part is that of late, my GLC feels unplanted. That's the best way to describe it. Driving it on the highway, on brand new asphalt, it feels like wheels are misbalanced, but they aren't. Hit a smallish expansion joint and the car feels like it bounces and on landing oscillates or pogos a bit before settling down. This leads me to think it's a shock or more than one shock. I am afraid of taking it in and getting a no problem found reply. Anyone had a similar experience and can point to a likely culprit?
Thanks!
My dealer and 2 local competitors currently have B service specials for $450 plus tax and shop supplies on their websites. When I arrived for my appointment the SA initially said he hadn't heard of the special. I showed it to him and he instantly pointed to the fine print that says it may not apply to all models and therefore I would not be getting that price. I said "OK, cancel my appointment and I'll head to another dealer who will honor it." I think he then realized I would not be giving him "all tens" on the next survey, because as soon as I said that he immediately walked back his comment and honored the price.
The suspension thing is a known issue. There's an extensive thread on it here, which includes exactly what to tell the dealer, the service campaign numbers for reference, and the steps others have taken to resolve it:

Many thanks again!
In fact, living around Chicago I have busted multiple tires in one event (potholes) so having a spare may not always help (though I have one). Calling roadside assistance may not help - one time I broke down in the worst neighborhood in Chicago... so bad, i drove out on 3 flats, destroyed one rim. Another time, I called roadside assistance and it took nearly 7 hours to get towed. That was on my GLA - though I was in a good part of town so waiting was just frustrating rather than dangerous. I'll keep the RFTs.
