It looks like a notch should have been cut in the plastic above the hitch. It looks like it's just bent up instead. I guess it won't hurt anything but that would bother me,

Still no joy - anyone have tips/tricks for wiring?

As mentioned previously, we also bought the recommended drawTite wiring kit from eTrailer and used the WireTaps another member suggested. When the module is powered but not connected to a trailer the signaling seems to be ok at the 4 flat plug, but when attaching a fresh out of the box trailer lighting rig and grounding that the car detects a rear brake light failure and none of the signaling/lights work properly until disconnected and the car takes a few minutes to reset. Does anyone have tips/hints on how to connect the drawTite module to the wiring harness? We are trying to not have to hard splice the wiring loom as we still have 20 months under MB’s CPO warranty. The WireTaps appear to work as expected - just wondering if there’s anything special about power/grounding. One member posted they ran power all the way from the battery? We are pulling 12V from a spare lead in the electrical fuse panel embedded In the rear cargo area. Appreciate any tips/tricks - can’t be this hard, can it? FWIW - this is 2018 GLC 300 with “Premium Pkg” - thx!!

Have you had any luck solving your faults problem from the wiring? I am thinking of going wired StealthHitch, but do not want to open up a bag of worms. I can always borrow a truck for my Waverunner trailer if I don’t wire this hitch.

Appreciate all the info and pics. I’ll go with Draw Tite DIY.

I have a 2021 GLC 300 and I called Mercedes parts department and they do have a trailer hitch for our cars. It's expensive however. I'm considering a clip on type rack for the rear.

make sure the receiver on the Mercedes hitch will accept the accessory rack you want to use before you commit. There's 3 different size receiver. I Think the factory may be a class 1. Most racks are class 2 or class 3.
