Red distance warning light with two tone rings in first few minutes of driving?
SubscribeHi, I just bought a 2019 glc 300 yesterday. I only have 75 miles on vehicle. Every time I take the vehicle for a ride I get a warning within the first 10 minutes of drive with the red triangle in the dash and two loud tone rings? The first few times it scared the hell out of me. This is a red distance warning light with tone but it happens within the first 10 minutes with no one around. Any advice before I go back to the dealer. You know they are going to tell me it never happens and will not happen when they take it for a ride?
Does it happen at the same spot on the road.....sometimes a hill or hollow can cause the system to see the road ahead as a hazard or even a parked car can occasionally panic the system!

if it happens in the same place all the time it could be like described above... we have a few places around town that set off my wife's car... oddly enough only happens at 42-44mph....

Seems like C-class is panicking for no reason: observed exactly the same behavior with C300 and also GLC300. Warning sometimes comes up for no valid reason (approaching parked car, big tree, etc.). There is "sensitivity" knob somewhere in the menus that may help adjust the threshold ....Originally Posted by Jmarazzo

I doubt it is something that is easily adjustable. Originally Posted by 6G Schnell

It is easily adjustable, as 6G Schnell says. Who knows whether that being set to high sensitivity is your issue though.

I brought the vehicle back to the dealer today within 24 hours and less than 100 miles. They checked the computers and found faulty sensors . They still have not found the source of the problem. I have asked the dealership for a new vehicle. Any car that leaves the assembly line with problems is a bad omen. The general manager assured me that if they cannot correct they will work to get me a replacement vehicleOriginally Posted by DanD.
