I cannot find any confirmation in any of my searches, either on these forums or anywhere else on the internet. Can anyone confirm that wireless carplay is supported by the MBUX system on 2020 GLC 300.

I have 2020 GLC 300 with MBUX. The answer is NO. It doesn't have wireless CarPlay, only wired CarPlay.

Adding to that, not only does it not have wireless CarPlay, but you can't even make it work wirelessly using third party adapters since those require a USB 2.0 port, and not a USB-C port that the 2020 model comes equipped with. So, at the moment there's really no hope of wireless CarPlay.

There's an adapter for USB-C to regular USB on Amazon. You can try that to see if it works. Be advised that not all USB-C adapters or USB-C flash drives are compatible with Mercedes. I bought once an USB-C flash drive for my GLC 300 and it didn't recognize. I tried another brand and it finally works and I am able to store my MP3 audio files and MP4 video files (yes, Mercedes can play movies also if only the car is in PARK position).

Wireless CarPlay is fully functional on MBUX. The system has all it needs already installed. For some reason MB locked it. Some say that it’s lagging and that’s why is not yet available. With the help of some coding you can get it working. According to the guy who does this the wireless CarPlay works just fine with no noticeable lagging. Maybe they’ll do the same like they did with the dash cam. I bought the high end hardware version with all available packages and can’t use the dash cam where 2021 models with the right package will be able for an extra $200. I don’t know why MB limit all these things. However you’ll need to have the high end hardware version of MBUX. MBUX comes with 3 types of Hardware. Entry lever, mid and high end. There’s an option to retrofit lower ends version and it cost $399.00.

Fascinating. Mercedes-Benz wants to capitalize on added value, providing software as a service (SAAS). The subscription model is a profitable one.
I figured all the necessary hardware was available in MBUX now just have to wait & see.
Ok seriously - Max Ho???

Your vehicle has to be in Parking mode. You can only hear sound if your car is moving. But if you stop your car with park gear on, then you will see the video. It's a safety feature MBUX implements.

How do you identify if it's high end MBUX without knowing what inside chip is? Is it by the AR (Augmented Reality) feature which my car has?

If you have AR navigation and you can play video files you definitely have the high end version according to the information provided by Daimler.

I managed to make the latest generation of CPlay2Air adapter () work on my GLC 2020. You just need a USB Type C to Type A adapter to connect. The type C to type C cable doesn't work for me. It seems the old generation selling on their website have also supported the 2020 model now.

how well does it work? Any lag when changing tracks or navigating around the apps and menus?
