Backup Brake Assist for 2020 GLC 300 SUV
We got a new GLC 300 and when selecting options we didn't select this one--really didn't realize it existed. Is there anyway it can be added now? I'm expecting to hear "NOOOOOO", but my thought is what if it broke, how would you fix it? what if the wiring had a short and it burned up, how would you replace it? I can't imagine the car would be totalled. Thanks.

When you're backing up, say in a parking lot and maybe there's a large truck or van blocking your view to the right/left so you can't see what's approaching, as you backup if a vehicle or other object or person comes in line of your reverse travel, the car automatically brakes so you don't hit it.

My GLC300 has it, although not sure what the feature is called or if you can see it in the settings.
When reversing (or going forward) you get a warning sound/indicator and the car slows. I've never tested if it slams on the brakes, I actually suspect not because I've had to accelerate through it occasionally when it's mistaken a parked car as a risk.
