Yeah, I asked one of the dealerships here about that. They said they could do for around $3,000. I asked another shop here where I take my car for maintenance and he said that there is not a retro-fit for my specific car for the Night Pack. He said I'd have to do an after-market kit to fit. I never checked on prices for that. Definitely not paying $3,000 to remove that chrome. The paint shop that did my wheels and other chrome quoted me at $700 for doing front and back chrome. The back would look strange though having the OEM gloss black paint directly below the black plastic.

I was going to go the paint route, but then decided against it. I sort of like the chrome against all of the black, too. Even the paint guy who I was working with who did the estimate said he really likes it the way it is now and wouldn't do the paint.

You could get your headlamp and taillamp casings smoked =, but I have a feeling that this is just going a bit overkill right?

Not particularly. I'm going tomorrow afternoon to get my door lock pin on the front passenger side fixed. While there I'll talk directly to the guys in parts and see what they say about getting the back bumper replaced with Night Pack one since I'm getting two different stories from two shops (even though they are owned by the same company).

I also like the amg front fascia that you get with the night pack. Maybe you can do that also? I'll post pics of the fascia in the next post.

I asked the parts guy today and they said Mercedes is weird about adding parts to vehicles. He said they can't all the info needed on parts to see if we could do it. At this point I'm probably sticking with what I have until I know what parts are needed definitively.

This is the hard part to figure out. Last year, if you got the amg line you basically kept everything intact save for the brakes, and a tiny tweak to the front fascia. It is likely possible to swap to an amg line styling. This year, getting the amg line gives you a whole front redesign. Which is probably why nobody knows how to replace it.

They're not helpful when it comes to parts, no. They said Mercedes doesn't give the proper part numbers if you want to make upgrades to a vehicle that didn't come equipped with those parts in the first place. The best they can do is pull up a VIN that has the parts I want, and then see if they can piece together, but they aren't sure all of the parts that would be needed.
