Caliper Colors

Has anyone painted, powder coated or installed any caliper covers on your GLC? I'm looking to buy some covers, but unsure which route to go when dealing with colors. My '20 is black with powder coated gloss black 19' 5 spoke wheels. I'm thinking about going gloss black, but not sure if it'll even be noticeable since the wheels are powder coated black. Any suggestions from anyone who's done it?

Not done on my GLC but I did do it on my m2 competition. Same size wheels as yours, black wheels, went with a light blue on my orange m2. Also, this is totally subjective, and depends on your exterior as well. Also I left the M badge visible just for show. I would go for a caliper wrap over painting or powder coating. I'll add pics after this post.

Yeah, I've decided to go with the covers at this point. If I don't like them, I can eventually just remove and go back to factory caliper. I'm thinking about going with the gloss black with silver engraved "Mercedes-Benz".

I don't know if this helps but I'LL attach my m2 wheel thing. This was in my garage a few months ago, currently being repaired.

Garage door open, orange in sunlight, this is probably the only real bmw sold by now.

My friend's GLC had the 19 inch non amg 5 spoke and the calipers are nearly impossible to see. I would also suggest a nice set of wheels that can show off your new mods. I don't know if you like these but these were my favorites. https://m.tirerack.com/wheels/WheelC...SABEgKJ_vD_BwE

I might be odd man out, but I think black, on black.....on black would be smooth......annoying to keep clean and minty though.

Black and black looks sweet on either white, black or silver/gray GLCs. However, on other colors it actually looks pretty crappy. We don't know the color of your car KCSam, because then our results might be more helpful to you!

I like those. They are similar to my 19" non AMG 5 spoke wheels. I got them powder coated gloss black. They look really nice!

I hear you. I'm really leaning towards going gloss black with silver engraved "Mercedes Benz".

Sorry for the late post On my way to pick up my m2 competition, I saw an e63s wagon, black exterior and wheels, yellow calipers. Looked really amazing. Maybe you'll like that. BTW it is the opposite. You would want to do the engraving in black. Not too classy.

I thought about yellow, but my wife thinks it doesn't look so good. I thought it was alright. I think the black with silver engravings would look good. Can't do black engravings because you wouldn't be able to see.

Ah. Black still looks great. Have you thought about red/silver engraving? That also might look nice, as well is a medium blue with a white engraving. I feel like people won't be noticing it. But then again, I drive an M2 which has a carbonfiber shopping cart wing and man, its orange. Maybe I'm not the person to ask

That's funny. I'm going to get the words engraved in silver. I think it'll look really good.

You know what, I think it will be a beauty KCSam! Thanks for pics by the way. All black would look super neat. Great pricing also. It's definitely better than my M2's caliper upgrades by cost!

The whole picture of car or the entire wheel when I get calipers on? I got all chrome around windows painted black. As well as handles and roof rack. Looks real good!

I understand some owners are passionate about making their car “their own” by customizing aspects of it. I get that. But to paint the chrome around windows and door handles black just seems like you’re asking for issues down the road. I’ve read about owners using a particular process to black out parts of their car (that I can’t think of right now) and maybe that holds up ok. For me, I’d rather BUY the car already “Blacked out” rather try to change factory finishes.
And for that matter, I’d rather do the research BEFORE I ordered my car instead of being surprised it didn’t have certain features AFTER I got it.

I did the research BEFORE the purchase and was very aware of the features available. I didn't want the car entirely blacked out. I didn't want the AMG style grill nor the back or front bumpers black. And for that matter, the paint on chrome was sanded down, primed and had a chrome adhesive added for the paint to stick. The company that did it has a lifetime warranty on chipping and fading. They've been in business 20+ years, so it's no fly by night shop. It's a far better look and longevity vs wrapping or dipping. And they used the OEM paint. I'm not the least bit worried about it, but thanks for sharing your concerns.
