Tire Pressure Reading on Service Menu

Has anyone correlated the tire pressure reading on the service menu to actual pressure measurements at each wheel?
I am finding that if I set all tires to 34 psi with a digital gauge, the readings on the display are all different (33, 34, 35,...).
It seems that the right front wheel always shows lower than the rest of the four.

Is there a way to calibrate the sensors in the wheels?

My 18" Continental Cross Contact LX Sport tire pressures corellate well with my high precision tire gauge & with what is shown in the tire pressure monitoring system (TPMS).

The system checks the tire pressure and the tire temperature of the tires installed on the vehicle by means of a tire pressure sensor.

Only correct tire pressure when the tires are cold.

Conditions for cold tires: The vehicle has been parked with the tires out of direct sunlight for at least three hours. The vehicle has traveled less than 1 mile

Tires:
- Restart the tire pressure loss warning
system (/ page 466)
- Check the tire pressure with the tire pressure
monitor (/ page 464)
- Restart the tire pressure monitor
(/ page 465)

You can reset tire pressure by pressing home button on left steering wheel. scroll down to Service menu, scroll down to the tire pressure sub menu, then scroll down to the message stating Use current pressures as new reference values, confirm with OK (if you are happy with pressure readings).

You will get a message saying tire press monitor has been reset. See page 465 in your manual.

Agree but you don't need to spend $500 for a good gauge.

Agree. Could be the gauge. I try to get my tires air pressure balanced (exactly) and it's quite impossible.

I'm not sure how the gauge can be wrong.
I measure all four wheels with the same gauge and set all pressures the same (34psi) while cold, first thing in the morning. The gauge is able to display within 0.5 psi.

When I reset the tire measurement system in the MFI, right front does not change while driving, left front and right rear increase in pressure as heat builds up, and left rear is some where between.

I'm getting ready for new tires soon and will have them check the sensors in the tires, if they can.
