how in hell did he do that? I've been trying to remove it since over a month now. Can u take a closer pic at it. I remember I have the part number, let me search my pictures and I will share. Just to confirm, u have a sensor behind it right?
BTW get it from Aliexpress much cheaper and same item.

Thanks but I called up Mercedes this morning and the part number is A0008800300 (£147.60 w/VAT).

I don’t care what Mercedes says, I’m going to superglue it.

so was it broken? can u see any sensor inside the start or was it only behind it? also now that it is off, can u advise on how was the mechanism to remove? plenty of us in this forum were trying to remove and we reached dead end!
as for glueing it, why dont you try Aliexpress, they have plenty of options for cheap!

I think it's crazy that Mercedes makes it so easy to pop the emblem off. I have the lighted emblem and you literally just have to turn it a little and it comes off. I discovered that the hard way a few months ago when washing my new GLC for the first time.

The emblem wasn't broken, it was stolen.

The distronic sensor mounted on a frame.

As for removing it, the thieving **** just twisted it off.

I didn't go for one sold on aliexpress because I have heard that it would interfere with the sensor. Regardless it was a free replacement on Mecedes' behalf.

I've had the car for less than 2 weeks and I've had engine management light come on on 2nd day of ownership, NOX sensor replaced on the fourth and the emblem stolen on the sixth.

I called up wanting to return the car and they threw in the emblem and 2 years free service.

Mercedes customer has been great thus far.
