Tire and Rim Protection on CPO in Toronto area
First off, very useful forum. I have used it for my C300 in the past. I live in the Toronto area.
Now, after a lot of thinking, I have decided to take ownership of a 2018 CPO GLC 300 4MATIC. I am leaning towards taking the extended warranty (3-yrs for CA $2750). However, I am not sure of the Tire and Rim Protection plan they are offering, 6 years for $1670 + tax. Below is what is covered. The vehicle comes with 19" rim and RFT. The tires are brand new. The dealer tells me it will also cover the winter tires. Since I never owned a RFT vehicles before, I am not quite sure if I should take this protection or not. I am planning to keep the vehicle for 6-7 years. I am sure I will have to replace the RFT at least once before selling it. But after reading many threads, I was thinking of replacing the RFT with regular ones when time comes. Until then, I was going to patch the RFT and use it. Also hearing RFTs cannot be patched and have to be replaced with new. I have many questions to the dealer, but wanted to check with the experts here first.
Please do share your thoughts as I have to decide soon. If any fellow owners from Toronto area can share, that will be great. It is because we may be driving on the same road conditions. Thank you.
