Tinting Panorama Roof in 2020 GLC 300 4Matic
Due to the light beige headliner - too much light enters the cabin.
Does anyone have suggestions for tinting the panoramic roof? I would like to tint it as dark as possible, without detriment in the future.
Side question: If I want to match the rear side window ting on my front left side & right side windows - how much percentage tint would I need? I have acoustic side windows on driver/passenger side.
Thinking of using platinum window tint on all side windows, to match.

Would like limo tint on pano roof glass (2). Would match rear side windows to tint acoustic glass front side windows. Not planning any tint front or rear windows.
State law:
State law:
- Front Windshield: Non-reflective tint is allowed above the manufacturer’s AS-1 line or top 5 inches.
- Front seat side windows: up to 28% tint darkness allowed
- Back seat side windows: up to 28% tint darkness allowed
- Rear window: up to 28% tint darkness allowed

Be very careful ..........
You may void warranty if you tint Pana roof.
More importantly you could end up with the glass roof shattering.
There are a number of posts and reviews in the USA of owners who have tinted their sunroofs with tint and the variation in surface temp to the glass has caused the roof to shatter.
These were experienced by owners of other makes, such as Honda, Kia, Hyundai, Ford from memory. Do a search on shattered sunroofs.
I understand what you are trying to achieve but the roof issue of glass exploding should be avoided !!
Tinting of windows, sides and rear is ok, whether with a clear tint or darkened tint - all UV helpful, just abide by State light transmission values to windows to avoid any fines.
Good luck.

There is no code or restriction on tinting a sunroof. You can tint as dark as you want. I have and always do. I live in Florida and it can be Africa hot down here. As stated above you should be concerned about attracting any extra heat to the sunroof. Cheap dark tint can restrict light but actually attract heat. Not good for our sunroof. Make sure you speak with a very well informed tint guy. You need a ceramic or high reflective quality tint. My tint guy is up on the latest and greatest types of tint and which ones are for what purpose. For instance my house has impact glass with a coating on it. Needed it tinted.....there was a specific tint for it. My guy used the correct recommended tint for my S550 2 years ago and this last summer was a true torture test, and no issues. Doing the GLC soon. Use specific, quality tint. Good luck
PS
I have had two cars over the years just explode rear stock glass with stock tint..

I spoke with a tint shop I have used for the past 12 years. They suggested Suntek Platinum reflective coating for the pano glass (other tints - ceramic tints highly absorb heat). They said no guarantees against cracking or shattering - but when I asked if they had specifically experienced that, they had zero vehicles ever do this with sunroof tinting.
Will be making an appointment this week or next to get it done. They mainly use Max Pro, 3M and Suntek films.

Had a tinted sunroof on my Mini cooper, no problems. I would go for one that reflects the most heat and not focus on solely on the ones that cut out the most sunlight. And true there are stories of peoples sunroof cracking but it is the exception and not the norm. Since you are in Wyoming the heat issue may not be a great as it is here in the St Louis area.
