2020 GLC Interior Defect

I just got my GLC300 about a month ago and noticed interior defect (see attached pic - rear back area). This is my first Mercedes and Im quite disappointed about the quality of the car. It might be an easy fix at dealership but I dont like the fact that they need to remove the center console of a new car to fix it. The car was assembled in Finland and Im starting to believe that there are differences in quality or workmanship from plant in Finland and the one in Germany. Is this kind of issue common for Mercedes?

You're upset about a carpeting that didn't get tucked in right on a mass produced car? It's really not that serious. Most of the assembly process is done by actual people, and things do get missed, thats why there is a dealer network and a warranty. That I would probably just tuck it in myself and carry on, but if it bothers you, i'm sure a quick stop at your dealer will have it sorted out very fast and good as new. Removing the console is quick and simple, I'd only start to worry if you have a dash coming out or something major in the interior.

Thank you for your advice! That's actually part of a red wire sticking out, and I didn't expect that for almost 50k car. Also, with Covid, it's just hassle to go to dealership for something like this. I will just wait until my first service due.

This place is a joke.
Just push the wire back under the console. Not a big deal.

I am still confused about the red wire and which part of the car in the picture.

But I would be also reluctant to send a Mercedes to someone unknown to fix when it is brand new, like a baby. You know, those kids in dealership.

No more MB:(
GLC is a mass produced entry level vehicle, these issues occur on higher level MB's. Why not on a GLC?

Its not a big deal. Compare to my GLC, it has coolant light on after driving a while when it comes in the first day. And they fine out there is a leak in the washer bottle. Then they replace those parts that have the leakage. Luckly no issue since then.

While I agree the wire should not be exposed, but **** happens, and it’s not a big deal, tuck it in and under and call it a day, why stress over something that simple, and so easy to remedy, you don’t even need to leave the comfort of your own driveway.

My 2018 GLC which was built in Finland has had no issues in the 3 years I have owned it.
