What is this item in the armrest compartment?

I bought a used GLC from 2016, and in the armrest compartment there is mounted a long plastic cased item with MB logo, as can be seen on the image below.

I have tried to look this up in the GLC Operator's Manual, without luck, so any help is appreciated.

What is this item in the armrest compartment?

WOW! MB was still using these in 2016?? We used to refer to it as a Bluetooth "puck". I had them in my 2006, 2007, and 2009 cars, and even started a little "side business" buying and selling them. I think it was around 2013 or so that I started to be able to connect to Bluetooth in dealer-supplied loaner cars without them, and neither of my 2015's or my daughter's 2010 have one.

My current conclusion, based on reading the documentation once told what to look for, is that it's not used in my car.

I base this on the fact that I have paired my iPhone using bluetooth, without going through the paring procedure for the Bluetooth SAP module. Neither have I updated the SIM card in the device.

So without connecting to the Bluetooth SAP module I have been able to activate the Mercedes me app with call to MB using the info button.

Neither of these functions are dependant on Bluetooth connectivity anyway. They are both connected to the cars own sim card.

Remove the module from the console and see if you can still connect to Bluetooth. If so, Google the model number on the module and see what people are selling them for on eBay, then list yours for $5 or $10 less. That's how I started.....
