White Residue in Coolant Tank

Hi Everyone,

When I was cleaning my GLC over the weekend I noticed some white residue over the coolant tank and around the caps. Not sure if this is something I should just clean or shall I contact the dealer? My car is out of factory warranty but have the 1 year CPO warranty.

Thanks again.

Cap not tightened to next locking point my guess.
There is a slight turn that does final pressure lock.
If already locked, then residue is visual remanent of coolant that has evaporated due to engine heat.

This happened to ours after dealer serviced it and did not clean up after small spill.
Check level in tank when car cold, do not open when hot.
Make sure to apply some wrist effort when closing.
Good luck.

Dried coolant. Normal. Could be a reservoir cap not tightened, as mentioned above.

Agreed. Wash it off and look for a recurrence.
If it recurs, try a new cap as part of the troubleshooting process.
Odds are you'll never see it again.
