What is this slot for?
I’m sitting in my wife’s car (2018 GLC300). I don’t drive it too often. I was looking in the back seat and noticed this slot. It’s on both sides. I searched this forum and Google, but I can seem to figure out what they are for. My assumption is some kind of guide for the seatbelt. Anyone have any input?

You put the seatbelt buckle in there to keep the belt out of the way when you put the seats down to carry cargo.

Always thought its for keep buckle from knocking on hard plastic im so crazy I know.

Here's what I found in the OM. @midesaka is correct, the seatbelt buckles go there.

Hey, I see a rear seat release below the slot you speak of... in your 2018. My 2021 doesn't have that. Ugh.
