Trying to see if any alternative to dealer for getting a new keyfob for 2019 GLC300 w/ keyless GO. Did some searching and only see stuff on older models. We got two fobs with vehicle, so still have one, but would like to get replacement.

Dealer wants $340 key, $180 programming, $85 physical key, plus tax.

I searched through some locksmiths and only see keys for older models.

Is dealer my only option here?

yes, but shop other dealers. as long as you can prove you own the car they will send to you. since you're new here, I'd recommend you complete your profile so folks know where you are, at least what country you're in. me, I'm in suburban Boston, Massachusetts and I found a much better price at a dealer near the New Hampshire border.

Called 4 and this was the cheapest so far. They all say need service appointment to program key. Is there anyway to program key myself, or is special equipment needed?

Well, here's where my old age works against us: last key I bought was in 2013 for 2009 CLK. It was $280.00 for the fob and $22.50 for the blade, and it was already programmed to work with my car right out of the envelope. A Boston dealer wanted $500+.

I'm in Northern Virgina and get quotation of 600+ from the dealers here. I hope there is a cheaper way to get a new fob.
