2017 glc 300 tire pressure?

hello
i seem to have an issue with the tire pressure on my 2017 glc 300. the sticker and all the searches i have looked at calls for 42 psi rear and 35 psi front. when i set this, i get a red warning for the 2 front tires asking me to adjust pressure. the 2 rear one at 42 psi is ok. these are run flat tires. anyone have a clue to whats going on here? is this not the correct psi for it?

thanks

When you set the tire pressure to your desired setting, you need to tell the car that is what needs to be monitored so that it won't think it's out of range, whether too high or too low. I don't know how to set them in a 2017 but would imagine it is where the pressures are shown in your display. There should be an option to reset or learn, or something like that.

As mentioned. The monitoring system's function is to basically monitor the pressure you have set as reference values and if they suddenly change at a great extent, it will alert you. Therefore, it is user configurable. I recommend using the values shown on the gas fuel door, if you haven't already. Remember to inflate the tires when they are cold as the pressure values shown on the fuel door are cold tire pressures.

I think those pressures that you quoted are for the vehicle when it's loaded to the maximum. There should be another sticker on the inside of your car's gasoline door with recommended pressures along the lines of 36psi (rear) and 32psi (front).

Those are more sensible pressures for everyday use, and the car should ride more comfortably at those settings.

yes, my wife brought the car in for service at MB and it came back with all the tires at about 40 psi and the red warning light came on. she complained to me and i set it at the door sticker values but
it still was red. finally after the above poster told me about the reset, my wife was the one that figured out how to so it.

thanks all, all good now

Typical dealership sloppiness, they should have re-set your TPM after adjusting your pressures. I recently had new tires fitted at a small indy tire store and even they knew enough to re-set the TPM. Pretty sad.
