Door Locks/Unlocks

Door Locks/Unlocks
So a strange one here.
Obviously when I have the key in my pocket I can lock/unlock the doors. Question then is; is there a way to make the doors stop locking/unlocking for brief periods.
When I wash my car with the key in my pocket the doors and mirrors keep cycling every time I move my hand past the handles.
So I have to put the key in the house so I can get on with business.
I have gotten use to leaving it in the house, as most of the time I don't have to move the car from the garage to do a basic cleaning.
Anyway, thanks for any comments.

Press the "lock" button twice rapidly. The red LED on the key will light up for a second or so. Your key is now asleep and will not talk to the car. To wake it up push any button.
