2016 GLC Comand System off line
Just want to share to everyone on my experience
My 2016 GLC(250d) Comand display did not turn on when I started the car at the weekend.
Engine running fine, aircon etc. But no display (navigation, radio etc)
Found instruction on Youtube. To press the EJECT button up to 10 to 15 sec, and the system restart. It did.
Only additional step was to configure the reverse camera to auto on when on R gear.
Several starts after that all good.
Battery check okay.
I don't drive my GLC regularly now (only on weekend). Could this be the problem?

Couple recommendations:
1- Buy a CTEK charger to float your battery. Marginal voltage from exhausted battery can cause all sort of weird grumblings issues. Computer networks don't run well with glitches.
2- Buy a good OBD2 scanner to manage the faults of the 40+ computer modules. You won't know for sure what cooking unless you can pull codes.
Modern car fault reporting is minimally implemented so you have to read live data to doctor your car troubles.
3- I wish you great luck but I can already confirm a reset is a band-aid, not a fix. Expect further disfunctions to learn more about how Comand acts up.
4- What is your background.... comfortable fixing electronics or hands off busy owner?
🤞

Your COMAND system was stuck not booting up. Performing a hard-reset got display back to normal. Car is driven mostly on weekends.

hand-held scanner and more....
They're couple good budget friendly units. Around here many people like iCarsoft, personally I use an Autel Maxidiag... budget around $150 USD.
Above that there are bi-directional units in the $1500 USD for shops.
Specialists use the MBenz computer toolset called Xentry, Das, Vediamo, WIS .... officially priced around $10k with limitless possibilities.
The German car industry is extremely well organized around the most advanced software solutions, literally best in the world.
If you have the opportunity to use a Xentry laptop please let us know.
