front star emblem replacement
I have a 2017 GLC250 (X253). Someone stole the Mercedes star emblem from the front grill. Replacement cost in Australia is $750! ( approx $US500). Considering it can easily be stolen again in about 5 seconds by anyone without the need of tools or creating any damage, I want to replace it with a non genuine part, but it needs to work with the Distronic sensor located behind the emblem. Many star emblems for the GLC250 are available from China, but most state they may not work with Disctonic. I have not found any that state they will work with Distronic. Has anyone had success in replacing their front grill emblem with a new replacement star that works with Distronic?

I ordered a replacement on ebay. It said in the ad not for use with distronic.
my car is a 2022 GLC300 and it worked fine with the distronic
figured for $36.00 I'd give it a try
only down side it took two weeks to receive.
