Hi, just got this email earlier this morning. I have a 2021 GLC 300 w/o navigation and use auto android. I heard a year or so ago that they might be offering perm navigation w/o having to use auto android. Assume this is it? Looks like I get a year free of communication, traffic and Online Map updates with the one time fee of $550.00 (see below). Looking deeper looks like it cost $50.00 annually. Anyone know any different? Better, worse or same as Auto Android?
Live Traffic Information, Car-to-X Communication and Online Map Update are all features included in Mercedes-Benz Navigation and are complimentary for the first year of activation. absolutely love the Mercedes navigation… the full screen, the integration, I recommend it!
I purchased the navigation you are referring to and it is great, will never use android auto nav again
It cost me $550.00 that is a one time charge then the Navigation services was $30.00 per year
Live traffic info will cost $50.00 per year if you want that, don't have to have
Over the air map updates is $40,00 there are like 13 different area's to select from for the automatic updates.
You select your area then the rest you have to update using a memory card
I also purchased Distronic pro but that doesn't come from the Mercedes store, I don't want a car again with out it
@GeneS Thanks, I was able to find that info you outlined above after my initial post. I pulled the trigger yesterday and it downloaded fine and yes it looks great compared to the Auto Android and AA wireless setup I had been using the last year+. I did notice the map version says 2019, so hoping at some point in the near future that gets updated to whatever the most current is.
I always used the MB onboard navigation because of the wider display than Android Auto. I also like the 2D display option compared to AA, which is only has 3D. What frustrates me a lot with the MB navigation though is that I could never navigate to my contacts. When adding a destination and choosing from contacts, it always complain about missing address details even when the address is complete and synced properly with my phone and Google Contacts. It seems to flip the address information when transferring the address from contacts to navigation. I can't find a way to edit the address in the navigation address field once it is entered from contacts. With AA, this is not an issue. The traffic info is also not accurate on MB nav, it alerts me of incidents that do not exists when I pass by the route. I didn't extend my subscription to the services, but might get the updates only for the map when there's significant map update that comes out. I have 2022 Map v18.
Do you have the auto updates turned on?
I used the computer portal and did the download of all the regions using a usb memory stick
Updated all of them fine. You can also update just the regions you select.. the auto update will
only do the region you have selected as yours.
Thanks all. One thing I noticed, the view options. Even when I choose satellite view it looks the same as the other, was expecting more like Google Satellite view, but maybe I am wrong?
You can setup the auto updates in the car and on your phone app which will work for your selected region. BUT
if you want to update the rest of the map regions you will have to do it on your computer, as you have to down load the update to
a usb stick

I struggle with those downloads every other new release, which occur 2X per year.
I just change home regions, wait a few days and the new "home" region updates.
It's a hack, but at least it's not frustrating.
I do try the "official" method every time. I'm successful 50% of the time.
