Text Messages on Comand Screen
I've connected and disconnected Bluetooth, rebooted and shut down in between setups, and just about every other trick out there for the phone and car.
No matter what, the "Show Notifications" slider is missing from the options in Bluetooth settings for MB Bluetooth on my iPhone 13.
On another vehicle (21 Toyota RAV4), this option is available. So I know the phone can do this. It seems like the phone does not recognize that the car has this option.
Anybody else having this issue?
Recently updated to IOS 16.4 and wondering if this may be contributing.
Any insight on how to resolve this?

EDIT: Also, 16.4.1 is already out to fix some issues with 16.4

Then he booked a service appointment that day and my MBUX system go a major software update. Word from the service consultant was that it was fixed.
Got in the car, paired the phone and still not there.
Then the MB Product Specialist tried his hand at it and still no luck. He is going to reach out to the MB network and check on a fix.
I then took the wife’s iphone (on IOS 16.3) and paired it to my car and Shazam! it works! I’m trying to figure out what’s different between the two phones to see if I can change a setting to get it to work. Last resort will be to reset the phone, which I’m not to keen about at this point.
So, now I have to figure out how to roll back my phone (which Apple won’t let me unless I force it) and inform Apple and MB that they have a collective issue. Wish me luck.

What's likely going on here is that NTG 5.2 uses a deprecated version of the Message Access Profile. Many of the older versions have been deprecated, and Apple likely removed support of deprecated versions in iOS 16.4, so now your phone no longer supports the MAP version that NTG 5.2 uses. I've been trying to find what version of MAP NTG 5.2 uses and whether it's deprecated, but I couldn't find any public information, so at this point it's an educated guess, but very likely that's what happened since it still works with your wife's phone running an older version of iOS.

I have the exact same problem on my MY19 GLC300 Coupe - Command with no Carplay... Updated the OS and texts stop working.
I do still have the slider for 'show notifications' however in my MB Bluetooth settings...

It's also stopped for my wifes note 20 and my sons iPhone!!!
Apparently the Bluetooth protocol used by MB is no longer supported by major phone companies
MB you need to sort this ASAP

For reference, 2018 C63S coupe, samsung s22 ultra. My phone worked fine in my 2017 C63 sedan, traded it in for the coupe and texts no longer worked. Googled it and came across this thread. Did some poking around and found that MB requires the MAP protocol so figured maybe I'd be able to adjust those settings, it worked. Seems like the older command systems might not support the updated protocol so you have to revert back.
