MBUX AI?

This event weirded us out today: driving into South California on I40, we were talking about construction and I said “road work”. Mercedes Me immediately defined road work and referred us to Wikipedia for disambiguation. I said Hey Mercedes and then asked it to define “disambiguation”. It did it correctly. Blew our minds! I asked another question a little more difficult and it said it couldn’t do that, then it said “Sorry”. Huh? When did my ‘20 GLC300 get AI like Siri? I asked the same question of Siri and it ignored me.

I thought you had to say "hey Mercedes" or hit the button on the steering wheel to engage the assistant? You're saying it overheard "road work" and volunteered the definition??

It did seem Iike that! I think it hasn’t yet learned that a word that may have 2 or 3 sibilant syllables isn’t “Mercedes”. So we are careful not to say that word so we say “Miss M” or some such.
