GLC300 2022 engine failure
I have a 2022 GLC300 with about 28,000 miles. So far the engine has been replaced and now it is in the shop again for another mechanical failure. Also had to bring it in for a steering issue. I have spent hours stranded due to this faulty car. it doesn’t meet my states Lemon law criteria. They keep fixing it but I have given up. Any ideas for how to get the dealership or Mercedes to make this right at all? I travel every week for work and I really do not feel safe in this car.

Welcome to the site. Sorry to hear about the GLC. What specifically failed with the engine? Cylinder head? Piston cracking? There are a few things known about these engines, unfortunately.
Is the vehicle covered by manufacturer's warranty? Have you requested MB Corporate to start a buy back process?

Yes it is currently still covered by warranty and it hasn’t cost me to get the issues fixed. I have had both of those fail so far. Last breakdown was the cylinder head. I just never know when the next breakdown is going to happen. I was so happy to get this car and now so just hate it.

Cylinder head is an issue on the M260/264 engines. That is why GLA/GLB's got warranty extension on the exhaust valve/cylinder head on the engines. I didn't see that on GLC/GLE models which might have less issues... Also I had a steering vibration issue on one of the 2022 GLC300 loaners last year and the MB service said that is just a software update. I don't know what your steering problem is, but there is a video on the cylinder head issue repair.

You could try sending a certified mail letter to MBUSA corporate, listing all the problems you’re having and each time it’s been in shop. Most of all, be sure to emphasize how you don’t feel safe in the car because that’s the main point.
Mine is almost a lemon under my state’s laws, and after it stranded me the second time, I sent a letter to MBUSA. They reached out to me within a week.

Thank you. I did hear back and they are going to offer me a buy back amount or extend my warranty for one year. I am hoping that the offer is reasonable (fingers crossed). I think your approach may have been more effective. So sorry to hear about all that you are going through. I have been there.

Like yours, mine doesn’t meet the lemon law requirements of my state (yet) but it just feels like driving a ticking time bomb in the meantime. I’m tired of the back and forth to the service center, being stranded, having to gas up the loaner, etc. I just want the car gone but I know it won’t be that easy.
I am wondering if I should try reaching out to MBUSA again.

They said the the insurance company will contact me regarding a buy back offer in a couple of weeks. Sounds like I need to send in financial information then they make the offer. I will let you know when I find out what it is.
