I have a 2019 GLC 300 and I need new tires. The car has about 30000 miles, it's the first time I'm replacing them. I don't want run flat tires. I bought a spare kit from "Modern Spare" a couple of years ago and would like to put a set of regular all-season SUV tires on the vehicle. The run flat ride is not so great, and I didn't really appreciate that until I got a second SUV with some pretty decent tires.
I was wondering if you folks can recommend something?

What size? Conti Cross Contact LX25 and Pirelli Scorpion Verde A/S are good if your size is available.
Continental Cross Contact on my 2020. They appear to be replacement tires that were new when I bought the vehicle in January. They're quiet, comfortable, and decent in rain. Have maybe 6K miles on them and not showing wear. Happy enough with them even though my preference is Michelin.
I am a Michelin Guy, tried some Continental's Cross Contact LX25 a while back and was very disappointed, actually hated them. Went back to Americas Tire Company and replaced them with Michelins. Never been disappointed with Michelin tires and am happy to pay more.
On our GLC300, we run Michelin Defender LTX M+S
My ML550 recently received Michelin Cross Climate 2's
Both tires perform very well, at least in our Northern CA driving conditions.

I usually prefer Michelin as well. I'll look into these. Thanks!
It depends on what you want eg performance vs comfort. Below is a table of stopping distances from tire rack tests give you a selection of tires, eg Cross Climates all weather tires give you the snow performance vs others give you 3 season performance and UHP's are best for dry/wet:

would you say the CC2's are quieter and smoother than LTX?
Like you, I bought a Modern Spare tire when I replaced my run flats on my 2018 GLC 4Matic a while back Like some others, I opted for the Michelin Cross Climate 2’s and love them! Haven’t had much snow here in Virginia since I put them on, but they have a really solid feel when I’ve driven through pooling water. Got caught by surprise one time with heavy water on the side of the road. I had a firm grip on the steering wheel anticipating some ponding and there was no jerking or pulling at all. And certainly no hydroplaning. And they are very quiet and give me what I consider a very comfortable ride. I’ve read some folks pass them over because they do have an unconventional tread, but that doesn’t bother me. Worth noting though, they are unidirectional tires because of the tread so they can only be rotated front to back on the same side. Not sure how that will affect tire wear but I still like ‘em.

I purchased Cross Climate 2's and have about 40k miles on them and really like them. They are quiet, great in rain and snow. Also they seem to have a lot of tread left, even after so many miles. I would buy them again for sure. There are some more threads on this forum on tires that you might want to check out.
