Add us to the list (cracked cylinder head)
We did a road trip and somewhere in Indiana the CEL came on right after a fill up, so we assumed the gas tank cap. We stopped, tightened it and continued on our way. A few hundred miles later we pull off for a rest and the car is shaking violently when we slow down - felt like a washing machine with shoes inside.
Limped it to a local Mercedes dealership and bam - cracked cylinder head leaking into the manifold. Thousands of dollars, and we called MB Corporate since our car was just 6k miles outside of warranty. Thank heavens after multiple calls back and forth they are covering the repair costs fully - they said our longstanding loyalty (12 Mercedes vehicles) and consistent maintenance records helped their decision.
So, apparently the engine problems are indeed in the 2020 engine for the GLC as well. I guess we’ll be looking around at what other Mercedes model options we have and trade in sooner than we had planned.

Here is hoping the new M254 doesn't suffer from this issue.
