Auxiliary battery malfunction but start/stop still functioning properly.

Auxiliary battery malfunction but start/stop still functioning properly.
My wife’s 2016 GLC300 with 18,500 miles suddenly showed Auxiliary battery malfunction, it is rarely driven, in fact from September of 2023 till end of January 2024 it sat idle in the garage.
started driving it again in February, mostly short trip. Also testing new dashcam and plugging it in the 12V cigarette lighter in the back seat.
The auxiliary battery was replaced by the dealer in early 2021 because the start/stop was not working properly.
now the start/stop is working but the display shows the auxiliary battery malfunction.
Anybody with the same problem?
Have not taken it in for diagnosis yet.

I was for sure there is no aux battery in GLC.
It is in GLE located in the back but not in GLC.
Want to see the part number what they have replaced.
And stop/start as far as I know relies on the main battery simply when engine is not running all electronics works from main battery so if main battery is not good stop/start wont work.

There is no actual auxiliary battery. What that message refers to most likely is a sort of voltage regulator component that is located under the carpet below the glove box area. I swapped it out myself, as it is quite easy. I recall it was a $170 part or so. We had the same message on our 2016 at about 50,000 to 60,000 miles.
my wife’s car has less than 18,000 miles despite being 8 years old.

hi, I had same issue on my Mercedes E220d W213. I had a message on dashboard "Auxiliary Battery Malfunction" and stop/start function was working properly. first, question why it was? i believe it should not have been working if there was fault with the battery/voltage converter
Now, I have changed with new OEM but message BUT i still have this message on dash board. how to delete or erase this message and/or why its is still there? please anyone help
