My GLC, (2020) has th AMG line, Black option, but had the starburst grill. I purchased one online and installed it myself. A tip to anyone thinking of it , it’s about a 2-3 hr job , the bumper must come off, and the GT-R installed
inside liner for the grill must be removed from the cover. I have been in the automotive repair business all my life , ran a shop for 40+ years, and have all my tools. If you look for a shop , make sure you know what they are going to do .
I am posting this because several videos online say you can change it without removing the bumper

That's actually the problem: you have the experience and all the tools, so why wouldn't you take the bumper off?? I admit that the videos that state that bumper removal is not necessary are not terrifically made, but they do prove it's not required.
I defy anyone to remove this grill from a 2020, x253 up, without bumper removal, the subplate covering the grill edges is fastened to the bumper cover, from the back. I know because I have done it, The models ,Bumper covers, shown in the video are not the same as the 2020 and up X253 , Good luck
