Low oil after oil change

Hey I just changed the oil in my 2021 GLC300. I reset the oil change interval. My gf went to drive it and it told her low oil. I don’t see any leaks. Is this common after oil change and it goes away or possibly the sensor decide to fail during the oil change.

How did you decide on the fill quantity? What fill quantity did you pour in?

my girl just sent me a screenshot and it says reduce oil. Sorry about the false alarm. I had put 7 liters of liqui moly 0w-20. So to reduce drain the oil and pour back 6.5 liters? I wish it told me how over it was

To remove oil crack open the drain plug and let 1l pour out. Replace the drain plug and measure level using the onboard system. If it reads low, pour in 0.5l of new oil.

If it was me I would use a new drain plug crush washer or new drain plug+o-ring if it is the plastic plug.

I have two GLC300 suvs. I replaced the drain plugs on both with a Fumoto F106N oil drain valve. During an oil change, it drains directly into my recycling container. When I refill the engine oil, I weigh out 6000 grams. Works everytime. If there was an excess oil alarm, use the valve tolet out whatever you need by controlling a simple lever. No crush washers ever. No oil pan bolts to drop or torque.

What is an "excess oil alarm?"

Thanks for your testimonial.

Do you feel secure that the Fumoto won't inadvertently open on a mountain trail?

During an oil change, if you refilled with too much oil. You'll get an alarm. I actually weigh out 6000g of oil too refill. That has worked everytime (at least 20 oil changes). The Fumoto valve wasn't installed to let out excess oil but to facilitate easy oil changes by simply draining directly into my Hopkins 3 gallon recycle jug. Any concerns that the valve will inadvertently open is addressed three ways. First, the valve lever is spring loaded into a detented closed position. You have to push against the spring and rotate out of the notch. Secondly, there's a plastic snap on keeper that prevents the lever to move as a backup safety. Third, a rather large engine splash panel secured by 10 screws must be removed to access the valve. I don't see how underbrush could open the valve.

If you check the Oil Solenoid thread in the W212 AMG thread....no, but, most of us are running it.

Agree, most MB certified oils are too thin, 40 weight, thinner oil is only meant to boost fuel economy not for the benefit of the engine, stick with 5w-50.
