2021 GLS300. Just bought it. I can check the oil level in the dash. Does it somehow display percentage of oil life left?

Thanlks

nope, it only shows the mileage or months left before the oil change depending on which one comes first.

If you drive more mileage and far away from the time based interval, it will show how many miles left before service required, or if you drive less and low mileage, the time countdown will show up.

We just bought it but: If at some point we want to drive it to Denver from Wisconsin. I would like to know where my old change interval is at. I'll put an oil change sticker on the door with the mileage when we bought it so at least I can look at that.

Thanks

I change oil every 5K miles at 5K points -- 5K, 10K, 15K, etc. Makes it easy to remember.

Oh you want to know the miles left and/or the days left? You go to ASSYST PLUS in the service menu.

I did finally look at this. ASSYST PLUS. All I found was next service due at so many days.

Thanks

Oh wait, so I went back up to the original post of thread and realized you knew this already, you wanted to know how many miles it has elapsed since last oil change, correct?

If so, it depends on your driving, if you drive low miles, the vehicle will only display it in days, if you drive high miles, it will display how many miles left before the next service is due, then you can subtract 10,000 with that number to determine how many miles the vehicle was driven since the oil change.

After that, you can then subtract the odometer to know at how many KMs was the oil change done. Sadly, it does not display both the days left and the miles left at the same time.

If you purchased the vehicle used, maybe you can find how many miles was the vehicle when the oil change was due on a carfax report but it might also not be there.

Oil was changed before it was sold to me. So I know where to start. I have an oil sticker on the door with that mileage and I can live with that. But if it had that ability I would use it. But now I know it does not. No biggie. I usually goes about 7500 miles on synthetic oil.

Thanks
Rodney

Are you sure they changed it? Like do you trust them? I would recommend just changing it again just in case they simply reset the car computer and not actually do the oil change.

Even if you get it changed again, be mindful of shady shops that too just reset the counter and not actually do the service, go find a shop with good Google reviews and works on European cars, better specialist in MB, unless you do the oil change yourself, you can never know.

We recently talked about this very topic, did they actually changed the oil? http://mbworld.org/forums/mercedes-t...ange-done.html

That does not help in any way what so ever. Also, from Minnaqua or from Monroe or SW?

There is a counter on all of our cars. The counter by default (in every one of my past six) was 10k mi WAY too far for my engine. I like my engine. I like my engine to have good oil.

My trip? I buy new tires (it is my thing). I have the oil changed and all filters changed...then, hit the road (check TPMS batteries too). At 4000 HIGHWAY miles. Change the oil.
