HELP! - Lost Keys in Vehicle

2019 GLC 300 - I have lost my keys most certainly inside of the vehicle. Multiple searches by me and others have turned up nothing. Anyone else ever experience this? What nooks and crannies might they have fallen in? My routine is to toss keys into the console cup holders every morning as I start to work. Today upon arrival, couldn't locate keys. The vehicle still starts and upon turning the vehicle off and exiting, I get the message to not forget the keys - which as I understand I won't get unless the key is present. I have a borescope on order, but any help prior to its arrival would be most appreciated!

Its hard to make a recommendation since we dont know where you looked. Make sure to use a flashlight, sometimes its best in the dark, to look for a reflection. My best guess would be between the seat and the center console down near under the seat rail. Just be methodical. Raise seat completely, scanning left to right in one direction and then reverse in the other. Also make sure to think about if you checked your engine or anything in the trunk. Or if the keys bounced all the way across into a map pocket. Just scan everywhere even though you may not think it possible. And, use other senses like running your fingers under in and around everything. Been there done that. Yesterday after a two hour drive I got out and turned off the engine before making sure I had the key, fortunately I did, cause thats another thing that can happen. Leaving cars running, unlocked, locked with key in, all things to learn when we use keyless.

The don't forget the key is there despite having no key present, only North American market MBs have that message.

Take another key, or something closely resembling it in size and weight. Repeat your "tossing it in the cupholder" actions a few times and imagine what errant path it might take.

Anytime I drop something, I place a like object in the drop zone, so my brain visualizes it better.
And look from angles parallel to surfaces, shining a light from a different angle to see shadows.

My wife lost the key to her Infiniti. We searched high and low to no avail. After searching the driver's door storage compartment twice, it turned up on the third try. It landed in a rag that must have wrapped around it during the first search. Of course by then we had already purchased a replacement.

Losing your key fob is nothing. One time, I misplaced my car for a whole year... Oh wait... I can't talk about that.

OP, did you find your key fob?

Buying a replacement is the most reliable way to find the lost one.😕

Sadly, OP, you are not alone, this happened before: https://mbworld.org/forums/e-class-w...uto-start.html

Key is still nowhere to be found, let me reply to that thread to request for an update.

OP -- are you saying the car will start without a second key fob being present, so you're sure the fob is somewhere in the cabin?

Nah. He found the key fob and forgot about us until his next Mercedes related problem or issue. Happens all the time.
