Seat cover repair/replacement- need options

The MB-Tex seat cover on the bottom cushion of the driver seat split on our 2018. The seat has the thigh support.
I called an auto upholstery shop recommended by my mechanic and was told that repairs start from $200 but he would need to see the vehicle.
What is the best way to deal with this? Have it fixed by a shop, or maybe get a replacement seat from a junk yard?
I am unable to do it myself due to health problems and will not go to a dealer for this.
I am in NYC (not in Manhattan), so would appreciate a recommendation in Brooklyn, Queens or Staten Island
Thanks

An upholstery shop can do an amazing job with materials they know work well and stitching they know will last. If you’re not gonna do it yourself, this is the way.
I’m not from New York and can’t recommend anything to you since I’ve usually done work like this myself, but I’d have to imagine there’s tons of upholstery shops in the city and someone here will have a good recommendation. There are some great aftermarket options but they would install in a DIY fashion, but maybe you could find an upholstery shop that would install one for you if you don’t wanna have them custom make the cover..

Ask what material they use - maybe ask them if they actually know what MBTex is.

I ordered a new driver-side bottom cover, and I will be getting the passenger-side soon so that I have them on hand in the future (in preparation for the day when they will crack).
They will make it when you order it. It will take a few weeks - but it will match your car. They have MB-Tex and leather options. Completely reasonable cost.
If you can find new-old stock that is an option as well. I was lucky enough to find new-old stock for the seat bottom covers for my 2005 C-Class last year.
