This is a picture of my 2023 X254 with LED Digital Light headlamps on low beam.
I find the blacked out areas annoying and unnecessary. I am surprised that no one else on this
X254 forum has mentioned it. The Dealer let me have another X254 with Pinnacle Trim to drive
overnight and it was the same. The Dealer says if they are all the same then that's what I get.
I called MB to lodge a complaint ,they made a note of it.
Mine looks the same. A slight stair step on each side and a small fang on each side. I’d only notice if there was something flat about 20 feet in front of me. It doesn’t bother me, I’d never notice in normal driving conditions.
Exact same with mine. They said its normal. The digital lights are basically useless in the US even though DOT approved them in 2022. No one at MB knows what's going on. Thinking of getting Benz ninja to do remote coding to unlock all the features that these headlights are capable of.

You are correct that there is no point in complaining to the dealer. You need to contact MB at 800-367-6372 ,they will give you a case number and a manager will get back to you.
If they don't get enough complaints they will not do anything. I told them I consider it dangerous as the low beam is cut off too low especially going down hill. The US spec. Digital Light is a joke.
MB misrepresented these lights for the US market. I had a 2022 GLC with the $600 LED option and it was far superior to the 2023 GLC Digital Light that only comes with the Pinnacle Trim.
On the C Class the Digital Light is an $1,100 option.
