HELP! Automatic Volume Control issue

Hi all

Can anyone help??

I have a new 2023 GLC 300 - Burmester sound system. I just got the most recent MBUX update yesterday.

No one can figure out how to disable the Automatic Volume Control / Adaptive Volume Control / Speed Compensated Volume Control or whatever they want to call it.

I set the volume. It goes quieter when slowing down, then louder as I speed up. Super annoying and I just want to disable it completely. Looks like it was a simple on/off in the 2022 model, but now that ability is gone.

Anyone have the fix??

I tried this with some success. Go into the Burmester sound system and create a new profile. Complete the entire setup going through each screen. You cannot just change an existing profile. When you get to the part where you set the comfortable volume, set it as low as possible. You have to be able to hear it but set it low. The next screen will ask you to set the low volume. Set that volume as high as possible. I also set the volume sensitivity on high.

With my car, as long as the radio, etc is set to a certain volume (higher) it doesn’t reduce the volume when stopping. To me after doing this, it doesn’t lower the volume as dramatically. I’ve tried several things, this appears to be the best for me unless they update the software at some point.

it continues to baffle me why there isn’t one switch to turn it off. A million options for everything under the sun but that.

Try the solution below. Page 243 from the manual led me to the photo. With faded out in Reverse turned off the sound stays where I set it. I can't remember exactly what else I did but the sound stays on. I just remember I read page 243 and tried settings.

Thanks Desal - but are you saying this also affects the volume when accelerating and slowing down?

Only turns off if you move the fade to “blue”. Turn radio on, put car in reverse and you’ll see.

It’s been a while since I made the change and I don’t remember if I made some other tweets. But the radio volume stays constant all the time now. Of course I’m a little deaf but my eyesight is ok.

Sorry I think you misread my post - I am not asking about reversing and the volume getting quieter (as this is the function you are speaking of) cant be easily turned off

I am speaking about the volume changes while driving and slowing down

I have found that if you have the volume control minimum set about 3/4" to 1" right of zero there is very little difference when you slow down or stop.

I understand. So today I drove around but couldn’t reproduce the change in volume.
i had car play on and off. My MBUX profile on and off. Searched for anything in the entire MBUX that I thought would make a change and turn it on/ off.
But couldn’t duplicate the issue although when I 1st got the car it did fade.

Like I said below the last change I made was fix reverse so the sound stayed on. A week or so ago I had the front lights replaced because there was an error. The dealer did a software update. Not sure if it included MBUX but that didn’t make any difference.

So I’m at a loss. All I can tell you is months ago I make a change to MBUX. Sorry I don’t remember what I changed. Right now I don’t have a change in volume problem.

TSB

There’s a TSB indicating this will be fixed in a future software release.

This is the best. Nothing like having an acknowledgment and recognition of a malfunction and a planned fix for it.
