GLC 300 48v problem
I have a 2023 GLC 300 with 2500 miles. Just recently I got a check engine light along with some additional lights. Took it to dealer who found problem with the additional dashboard lights (bad speed sensor and bad wheel bearing), but also determined that there is a 48v battery system. They gave me a sheet of paper (see attached) with the error code and the fault problem. They said the problem fix is a software solution which MB does not have as of yet. They told me that the car was okay to drive even with the check engine light on. I am an engineer but not an auto tech, which means I am not an expert on cars, but I have a strong mechanical ability and an understanding of engineering principles. What amazes me and really baffles me is that there is a faulty part, but it has no effect on how the car drives or functions. Point is what is the use of a part that has no necessary function. I am feeling that someone is pulling the wool over my eyes. I don't think I can get a straight, rational answer from my MB service department. Any informed info would be appreciated.

1/24/24 the CE icon went out and has not come back on since. I was going to call the dealer but I didn't as I received an email that MBUSA has agreed to repurchase my vehicle.

Initially with very few miles on my new 24 GLC I received numerous warning messages and alarm sounds going off on my console. Took it to the dealer they did a 16 module software update on December 29th. To this day I have not had any messages and the car is running excellent knock on wood. But to your question yes I'm with you on that why have components that throw error messages only to allow you to operate the vehicle. They are just warning messages! I had a BMW that gave me messages every 3 months! One of them was let's see how much money we can drain from Mike's wallet this time 🙂 good luck
