Curious do y'all drive with the auto start/stop feature disabled or enabled ?

My car downshifts More Smoothly and Fluidly from 3 to 2, and 2 to 1, when slowing to a stop sign, stop light, etc... with the "A" turned ON (the default).

Compared to my wife's 2022 GLE350, you hardly feel the engine start/stop in the 2024 GLC300. Her's is really noticeable. I turn it off when driving her car. Major difference between the two.

I think they got the auto stop/start right with this version of the GLC. With all previous Mercedes, I used to disable the off/on, with the 2023 GLC I always leave it on.

Hate it. Coded it out on both my cars that have it. Saves nothing for me, is an annoyance and a hazard. Does nothing but accelerate engine, battery and starter wear.

So far, ON. After 1600 miles, I’m getting used to the 1/2 second delay after releasing the brake pedal.

I kept it on after premium passed $5 a gallon.

I'm hating it more as the Chicago weather warms up. The Air Conditioner compressor stops running when at the stop light and the vehicle is in "auto stop" mode. Hot air starts blowing out of the vents, instead of cooled air! Not my first car with auto Start/Stop, but the first time I've seen the A/C stop working in this manner.

I thought the mild hybrid was supposed to fix that.

I think the mild hybrid causes more "confusion" for the poor engine's onboard computer.

My wife's 2022 GLE350 keeps running at the stop light, if the air-conditioner compressor is active, and it's hot enough outside. The little "A" turns yellow, instead of green.

Three days ago I decided to try no auto stop for a while. While I more or less got used to the
slight delay of auto stop, I must admit that I’m happier with auto stop turned off. Much happier.
I simply got tired of trying to anticipate the delay at every stop while trying to avoid a lurch.
