Well it’s about damn time. I would be interested in this, more so as a C350e however.
With 81 miles of WLTP range we should expect a mid 60 mile EPA range up to 87 mph. MB hybrids tend to get, if not beat, their EPA range. Its 24.8 kWh battery pack also DC fast charge up to 60 kWh, and can be fully recharged in 30 minutes. This will have the most range and fastest charging in its class by a significant amount.
Ev output is 134 hp and 325 lb-ft. Full system output is 313 hp and 406 lb-ft.
Additionally, “‘Mercedes me Charge’” will be standard, blending integrations with Electrify America, EVgo, and ChargePoint public chargers into a single user experience for more streamlined charging while on the go. This ‘network’ includes 100,000 chargers in America alone.”
My only gripe is that they’re using the GLC300e powertrain from Europe, not that it’s a bad thing by any means, but the M254 is detuned to 204 hp. Would’ve rather seen them bring over the GLC400e that has the full fat 255 hp M254 tune. Still, when fully charged we should expect quicker acceleration than the GLC300, even with the additional 1000 lbs.
I’d be interested, but need to measure the cargo area. You lose the underfloor storage, and the cargo floor is a couple inches higher, losing crucial height for transporting, say, a bike.
You don’t loose underfloor space because there really isn’t any. You do loose the spare tire. And, like you say, the floor will be higher so you loose some back area height space.
Interesting, this is basically announcing all 2025 GLCs will come with the updated MBUX 3 found in the E and CLE, will probably also carry over to 2025 W206 C Classes. Meaning GLC Coupe, GLC43, and C63es for 2024 will be the only year of those models with MBUX 2. Also, it mentions digital key
I wonder if people are worried about MB's ability to master this GLC350e technology. Based on reports, even on this forum, they can't get the basic ICE models to work correctly with a mild hybrid. Going further into hybrid with the GLC350e when they can't master the basics of a 48v battery and ISG? Fingers crossed for those early 350e buyers!
The GLC issues reported on here are the only thing stopping me from getting into a new 206 model. I hope they get the kinks worked out soon.
