Smartphone wireless charge

I tried the charge pad in the center console for the first time and it worked great with my iPhone 14. When I got out of the the car the Mercedes Lady said, “ Don’t forget your cellphone.” 🤣

Yes, that feature is optional in the setup and can be turned on or off. It’s nice to have. It also reminds you if you are using a usb-c cable as well!

Our 2023 GLC with wireless charging is very finicky about where the phone is placed. We almost always have to move it several times to connect for a charge. My 2021 C300 works every time I place my phone in the charger. Is anyone else having "placement" issues in their X254 GLC's?

Yes if you connected the phone to the car, it will remind you to take your phone with you. If it was never connected, it won't remind you as it doesn't know if you have a phone with you.

Strange - never noticed a placement issue. We just put the phone in the center of the pad area, all the way in. Besides, there is not much room to move it off-center.

Not for nothing, but the best way, for best battery life, to charge the iPhone, is to use an apple power block, with an apple cord. Charging in your car, wireless, or USB-C should only be conducted when apple charging is not feasible. Charge at work, or at home, or during meals, using apple gear. The best charging routine is discharge to 15%, recharge to 95%.
Also, battery health declines more rapidly if iPhones are left on chargers all night.

Here is a good post: https://mbworld.org/forums/c63-c63s-...ml#post9156839

Perhaps just get a magsafe wireless charger if want to stay with wireless charging.

The only trouble is that the charging pad is sort of hidden. So having the message is useful reminder!!!😁

Instead of saying “agree” or “thank you” or “well said” etc., statements that don’t add to the conversation, how about just using the thumbs up indicator? When I see there is a new post added to a thread I go to it expecting to see a comment that is interesting or relevant to the discussion. Just a suggestion as I know you have added much to threads in this and other forums (over 20,000 posts - wow!).

I myself have struggled with the argument you are making. My pet peeve is more irritation from lurkers. So when I read a thread, I go into an internal debate of, should I be a taker by lurking in a thread, then posting nothing that may require some thoughtfulness and effort? Or should I post something that might not be worthy. I sometimes don’t post, if what I might have to say might not be an asset to the thread in some way. But usually, I try to add something from personal experience, or something humorous, or something appreciative. I don’t begrudge any posts anyone else makes, assuming they go through the same internal conflicts I go through.

I am not sure what you mean. Did you misunderstand my post? I was defending you. I was trying to temper the thoughts expressed by the guy who was essentially saying that your posts added no value.
I think if you go back and reread the posts in order, it will be obvious that I support your comments, that someone else has questioned. That someone else person perhaps now has some additional perspective to maybe change their opinion, at least in my opinion.

I think you might reread my post. I definitely did not say his many posts add no value, just the opposite. I am saying that one or two word posts that basically just say “I agree” or “thank you” add no value to a thread, after all, I believe that is what the thumbs up indicator is for - correct?

In my opinion, the like button is not the same thing as a thumbs up, or I agree. I have liked posts that I didn’t agree with because they were well written, or very informative, or I thought were humorous, and maybe even for other reasons. Posts I like are those that stand out for excellence over and above a common, or average post.
In the same light, have you reread my post? The reason I ask is because a part of me does agree with you, but another part doesn’t. The doesn’t wins over for reasons I explained.
I am thinking maybe you haven’t considered that angle, and thus the conflict of “to post or not to post”.
Not meaning to step on any toes.

Sorry about that, a few hours ago I just woke up. I stand corrected that I did misunderstood you.

Sorry if I misunderstood you as well in anyway, I just woke up the morning a few hours ago when I saw your post and I thought it was a complaint against me.

I thought you weren't happy about my post and I too thought (just like how MB2timer thought so) you meant my post have no value, you even stated the amount of post I made over the 5 years (20,000, I have) and you said that I was seen on other forums too. I was under the impression that you thought my post not only doesn't have value but is all over the place, now I know you didn't mean that, thank you for clarifying.
