2024 GLC300, 2014 BMW M235i
GLC300 is my 14th car
… and my most comfortable and enjoyable car so far. Having said that, I still have some quibbles, which is
also true of every previous car I’ve owned even though some were fun cars. My current M235i is equally
enjoyable, but for different reasons.
My gripe with my GLC is common; having to use the touch screen for just about everything, including ventilation.
And, I find that something about my finger tip doesn’t always work the first time. Yes, I do occasionally use the
voice command, but I’m not always in the mood for conversation. I guess I will try the voice push button to make
the dialog shorter, but I have to glance at the button first to find it.
But don’t get me wrong. I still love the car, and as I mentioned as good as they are, all cars have their quirks.

Moved up to MB from BMW 15 years ago. E60 M5 was a huge disappointment and a tipping point. GLC is the 9th of these fine cars, however the E63 is my favorite and the best of all!

Just did a quick inventory, kinda back of the envelope mental exercise and arrived at 23+ cars.

I didn’t fully appreciate the benefits of torque and the RPM it occurred at during my early years
of car ownership. It really hit, literally in the seat of the pants, when I bought my 2014 M235i.
Full torque at only 1400 RPM is so satisfying.
Of the 14 cars I’ve owned four were 4-bangers. All were anemic and buzzy, causing me to swear
I’d never buy another one… until I test drove the 2024 GLC300. And to be fair, there are many
competitors offering similar 4-banger performance.
