2024 new owner observations

Still unhappy with the a/c performance. Air is set to blow out of the dash ducts only. In our current '14 ML350 and previous '14 GL450 and '17 GLS550, once the set temp was reached the fan began to slow down. The fan never slows down in the GLC indicating to me that the set temp, 72, is not being reached. Lowering the set temp to 69 does nothing. The fan blows on high no matter what. I can manually lower the fan speed but that's a band aid. I guess a trip to the dealer is in order.
Little things. On the ML and the GL/GLS, all 4 floor mats were secured by buttons. In the GLC, only the driver's mat is secured that way. Other 3 just lay in. Frankly I don't mind. Those mats are sort of form fitted so if they move it won't be much. Makes vacuuming easier. I noticed that the front fender wells are made out of fiberglass, while the rears are made out of some sort of fuzzy fiber board. Gonna be real dirt magnets. Whose idea was it to tie more USB ports to other options, or have a standalone option for more. Bean counters. Anyway, there is a block out plate at the bottom rear of the console. I'm gonna try to pop it out to see hat's behind it. It might be a good place to add a USB station. All kinds are available, mostly for boats. I'll come back on this if I try. Otherwise very happy with the car. Seats are really comfortable. Tech is fun. Hey Mercedes, open the garage door, navigate to Sam's Club, play Sirius channel 73. Having the front camera come on as I get to my driveway is neat,

I hate that the latest GLCs don't play MCH FLAC files since the highest Burmester audio is not available!
It must not have been popular enough to be included going forward!

We have had the same issue with the AC on our car,and have found it is very easy to accidently take it out of AUTO mode. In AUTO mode our car behaves as you expect, when reaching the set temperature, the fan slows down. But the only indication that AUTO mode isn't on is the red light below the AUTO "button" on the display is not illuminated.. When it is not in AUTO mode, the fan speed doesn't change with temperature.

Regarding the knockout plate behind the console, I managed to pop it out without breaking it!!!. Lots of room behind it. There are dozens of socket types to choose from. Next step is to decide where to tap in for 12v power. Need to take the car out of the garage for that investigation. Stay tuned!

Thanks for the note about the Auto. Unfortunately the red bar is lit, so Auto is on. Regarding the knock out plate, I made a substitute from and old Lazy Susan my wife tossed awhile back. I'm not a hoarder, but I am in the pack rat hierarchy. The thickness was the same and the color is very close. Ordered this flush mount USB socket add on.

Challenge will be anchoring the plate over the hole. One step at a time.
