2025 GLC 300 4matic

I have been excited about trading in my 2019 C300 4matic for a 2025 GLC 300 4matic. I have enjoyed every minute of driving the C300. After 80k miles, I have never had one problem with it. Now I need an SUV, and thought my decision to get the 2025 GLC was easy. But now I see there are so many negative reviews from the 2024 GLC owners. And a lot of owner reviews saying they had to invoke the Lemon Laws. I understand the first year of a redesign can have more problems, but these reports are continuing into 2024, the second year of the redesign. There are so many, and a lot are quite serious. Tales of people left stranded, the car shutting down for no apparent reason, or the car jerking jolt-forwards upon engine starts, battery drains for no reason, differentials needing entire replacements, software issues with no updates or fixes, and more. What are your thoughts on whether these problems persist into the 2025 GLC models?

2024 was first model year so hopefully the 2025 fixed most of these things.

Pretty sure MY23 was the first year of the X254:

Just because the MY24 came out a mere 6 months after the MY23 doesn't mean MY23 didn't exist!

Sorry I was looking at the C254 coupe's first model year, I stand corrected.

2023 GLC 300, 2021 VW ID4
Just to set things straight - the C300 sedan, which is basically the same as the GLC300 SUV but with a different body, came out in MY 2022 with the redesigned interior and mild hybrid system. The MY2023 GLC (my car) was the first year for these changes in the SUV model. Therefore 2025 will be the fourth model year with these upgrades/changes. This is not counting this change being released even earlier in Europe. So, this design has been around for a while and let’s hope 2025 will have the design/engineering tweaks done to make it a totally reliable vehicle. I will say that since my car had the software updates done (especially the door modules) it has been trouble free.

We have had our 2024 GLC300 since March....completely trouble free. My only surprise was finding out it came with summer tires (not unusual for a Georgia car), so will have to pick up a set of winter tires/wheels when we move to Pittsburgh later this year....

I am pleased to hear both of you having a good time with the car with no reliability issues, enjoy in good health : )

GLC 300 2024
Just to add that we have had our 2024 GLC300 since early April, and not a single problem either. It's a beautiful car and a pleasure to drive.

Remember that very few "happy" people tend to post on the internet about their experience, so you're always going to read mostly negative accounts - people are venting or trying to find fixes for their problems. Understandable.

The GLC is Mercedes best selling model and, while I concede that overall build quality is not the same as in the past, I would venture that most buyers are happy with their purchase.

I have a 2023 GLC300. Initially it did have some battery and other computer issues. It seems it was all software related which the dealer updated and things have been fine ever since.
I have the Distronic package with HUD and AMG trim and this is an awesome vehicle.

I have an early 2023 build GLC 300. It's been trouble free for more than a year at 10k miles.
It's also fully loaded, MSRP was almost $65, just stating because the extra "systems" usually cause all the problems.
