Digital vehicle key on 2025 GLC

The GLC digital key is listed as "delayed availability" for model year 2025 (as of October 2024). No indication when it will come yet.
Digital Vehicle Key availability is delayed. All cars are equipped with DVK but currently nonfunctional. An OTA update will be available in the coming months to activate this feature.

Do you have an official source for this information? The Digital Extras team via MBUSA Customer Support is adamant that it's not supported on the 2025 GLC 350e. My dealership seems clueless about it. Just trying to cite an official source for the info and perhaps trsck down and availability date.

Wait didn't know the 2024 EQS SUV have digital key what about sedan, I mean I haven't heard forum members of both models discussing about it on the forums though.

Hi guys.. Got my GLC300 coupe in Brazil and the same thing… 896 listed but without any option to install it, doesn’t appear on app…. I will wait for some OTA update soon.. This feature is vital for me, I had a new X1 msport and I used all the time this feature, my two keys always in the drawer

Mercedes Benz GLC
Has anyone with 2025 GLC any experience with the digital vehicle key? According to this page https://www.mbusa.com/en/mercedes-benz-app GLC should have it (Available for 2024 and newer EQS Maybach SUV and E-Class Sedan, 2025 GLC, EQE, EQS, and S-Class), but I can't find any settings/option to set it up either through the MBUX, or the iPhone's Mercedes-Benz app.

I hope you have solved this issue by now. I’m from Switzerland, just few weeks back got my new GLC and got the digital vehicle key option in Mercedes Benz app but it always shows “pairing not possible”. Contacted customer support and after few days they asked me to bring it to Mercedes garage. They kept my car for a night and next day it worked fine. They said that it was system configuration fault and they had to reset and reinstall whole system again.

Unfortunately it is still not working in the US. The option to setup the digital vehicle key is available in MBUX and starting the setup displays a screen on the iPhone to add the key to the Wallet app, but it asks for an eight digit pairing code. This code apparently should be displayed on the phone, but it isn't. I called MB support and they said the MB engineers were still working on it. They couldn't provide a data when it will be available.

On my new GLC 350e SUV I had no problem setting it and using it. But I had to uninstall because for some reason its Bluetooth connection interfered with my Bluetooth hearing aids. Wouldn’t allow me to connect to the iPhone. It was the only Bluetooth connection that had a problem. Oh well back to keyless entry.
What version of MBUX and mobile app do you have that allowed you to set it up?

Correct, the Digital Key uses UWB, which has nothing to do with Bluetooth. Operates on completely different frequencies and is an entirely different protocol. But could be a software glitch on the iOS side related to the BT hearing aids. Which iPhone and iOS version did this happen with?
My MBUX is version E333.7.1-56, Me app is 3.60.0 US using iPhone 15 pro max. Accessory is automatically connected by the software and shows up in my Bluetooth along with the key that is added to my wallet. You can’t “forget “ accessory inside Bluetooth you have to delete from Mercedes me in the setup. Any ideas as to why? Like I said back to keyless entry which works.

UPDATE - with all the installing, re-installing and resetting for some reason the Digital key is not interfering with the hearing aids. This is good news for the hard of hearing!! Or maybe just me!

I have the same Mercedes Me app version and I don't have the Digital Vehicle Key option in the app. MBUX version in my GLC 350e appears to be newer than yours - E333.8-58, MBUX does have an option to start setting up Digital Vehicle Key, but it always fails. The only thing I can think of is that they did not enable something in our vehicle configuration on the Mercedes service side and the Digital Vehicle Key option does not show up in the Mercedes Me app.
The 2 photos that say Not Compatible are from my iPad. The Active photo is from my iPhone. Both iPhone & iPad Mercedes Me apps are v3.60.0. I guess we both need a trip to dealer and may get some answers. But chances are they won’t know and point you to another source…

I see you have MY26 (254X), I have MY25 254X, so I wonder if what the Mercedes representative told me on the phone is true - they are still working on enabling it on MY25, but MY26 already has it enabled.

This may be old news, but I just purchased a 2026 GLC300, and did indeed get digital key to work, both on my phone and my Apple Watch. It took a while to get it activated, I finally solved it by going to the Mercedes-Benz app, then clicking on the little portrait in the upper left corner, then clicking on the larger portrait at the top of the screen, then scrolling to the bottom and completing the "identity check" item. It prompts you to take a photo of your photo ID and a selfie. A few minutes later the task completes.

Did you have "Digital Vehicle Key" under Remote Controls in the Mercedes mobile app before you went through the setup process that included taking a photo of your photo ID and a selfie? I have completed that identity check and I don't have that option. As previously mentioned, I suspect that MY26 models might have it enabled now, but MY25 don't.
It was in the "MBUX Comfort" category in "Digital Extras"

I have disabled the digital key feature on my 2026 GLC because I was experiencing mystery cases of the car alarm going off when I opened a door which was already unlocked. I had noticed that the car would "respond" to me walking near it with my phone in my pocket, making clicking and whirring noises and started wondering if all these encounters might have something to do with the car getting into a confused state where it thought it was locked when it wasn't. So far I haven't had any more "alarming" events, so as time goes on I'll gain more confidence in my theory.
