MB App doesn't recognize user

2024 GLC 300
MB App doesn't recognize user

A couple of days ago I went to log into the MB app to see if it had been updated. Launching the app on my iPhone brought up the login screen, which I don't think it had ever done since the initial loading 3rd qtr 2024. I entered my email and password and it didn't recognize them... after researching and trying various times I discovered that the email address on the app was incorrect by 1 character, which prevented me from logging in... trying to change the email address resulted in the app sending a link for it to be changed to the bad email address. (makes sense to keep it from being fraudulently changed)...I even tried to create a new user, but the app recognized the phone number and the VIN as already assigned to a user and wouldn't let me add them to the new account. so I had to go to the dealer per the app. Yesterday I spent over 2 hours with the dealer tech person as he tried various methods to get the email address changed, all to no avail. Finally he called MB app support and they indicated they would have to delete the old account and add a new one, which they say could take a couple of days... So now I'm waiting on them to create a correct email account with my VIN and phone number and then will go back to the dealer to insure it's set up properly. During this interim period, I've lost all the user defined specs.... seat position, Sirius, Apple Car Play, iphone linkage, GPS auto parking aid, etc It's like having a nice rental car with AM/FM radio only. Hopefully the end of the week I'll get the functioning app installed... Be sure your email and phone number are correct in the MB app or you might get a similar problem.

This might sound weird but what happens if you create that exact wrong email, if it is not taken yet? Then you can send the verification email to that new email you created?

Tried that, unfortunately it was taken.... I guess that person was getting the MB emails to reset their email address and password... hopefully not a MB owner or they'd really be confused....

Thanks for the idea tho....
