Entertainment volume issues
Hello to all the MBUX gurus out there – I’m having a frustrating issue with a new GLC 300 with regard to the Entertainment volume. Specifically, it will not stay off. I don’t listen to the radio or music, I like it quiet. So I put the volume to zero. Leave the car, come back, start up … and the volume is no longer at zero, but up a little bit, enough that I hear it. So I tried muting it. Same thing, restart the car and it is unmuted. So I tried volume zero AND muting. Same, same.
Dug through all the audio settings, and you can set default volumes for parktronic or messages / warnings but apparently not for the radio. Read through the appropriate parts of the paper and digital owners manual several times now, and this is simply not addressed.
Does anyone have any ideas how to make the zero volume “stick?”

You can try switching to a source that has no sound. For instance the podcast app that can come with the car for whatever reason will not restart when the car is turned off and back on. Do you have any music on your phone? If not try setting the source to your phone Bluetooth.

Solved! With a slight adaptation inspired by your idea. I changed the input from radio to media, and under media there was a choice of the phone or USB. I just selected USB and nothing is connected. And it seems to be staying there, and it’s quiet!
