GPS Navigation
Our 2024 GLC300 did not have GPS Navigation when I bought it, so have been using the
Apple Map via Apple Carplay from my iPhone. This works pretty well, but have experienced
a few dropouts where my AT&T cell coverage sucks.
Then a few days ago, I was poking around my iPhone Mercedes app and discovered that my
car was compatible with GPS Nav. I was blown away, including where the GPS antenna is
located. So, I paid the one-time fee and then downloaded the for-the-life-of-the-car GPS
software. Viola! Works perfectly, including satellite images map!

software. At $550.00, the one-time fee is a bit pricey, but it is good for the life of the car. No
subscriptions were mentioned, but maybe MB slipped one by me.

I was pleasantly surprised our car had the hardware. It definitely had no GPS Nav since new.

What customers don't like about this is because they are literally charging for something that is already installed, they just purposely locked it/disabled it with software. For example, on EQ models, you can pay more for more horsepower through subscription: https://mbworld.org/forums/eqs-suv/8...se-update.html
