Odd clunk at 18mph

Has anyone else noticed this? A rather prominent clunk-clunk sound when slowing to a stop, it happens at about 18 mph. It also happens when accelerating away from a stop at about the same speed. The car is otherwise rather quiet, so this clunk is noticeable. I’m wondering if the camera door opens and closes on its own? Does it make / should it make that much noise? The sound does seem to be coming from the rear of the car. Car is a 2025 GLC 300 RWD.

They say it might be due to recuperation: https://mbworld.org/forums/c-class-w...ing-noise.html

It's the stupid rearview camera. God only knows why it is set up that way. It happens around 18-20 mph. If you are on your home screen with the MB nav map showing, as you slow down you can see the map change scale from small to large at the same time. One day I expect the camera to just fall off the hatch from overuse....

As others have said, it is the ridiculous rear camera popping out and then going back in. Needlessly complex and programmed by.....no idea what human would program it like that.

I agree with the previous posters, it does not make sense for the camera to pop out so frequently. If you want to know more about this subject there are many, many other threads on this topic, in this and other forums.

Oh that, heard it started with 2024 model year not sure why but simply a calibration thing. It was most talked about on the V167 GLE:
