Pricing Questions
Note: When you questioned whether or not they can manipulate the invoice, to my understanding, they cannot. While I do not believe they can tamper with the numbers, sale price minus invoice does not reflect the dealership's total profit. They get holdback money from MB when they sell the car, which increases the profit they already made by selling you the car. While they do get holdback money, dealerships don't like cutting into it on the sale. Unless you are willing to buy a 2017, I doubt you can get any better than $500 over invoice. Also, don't let the dealership screw you on dealer fees.

Plus, remember you potentially are ordering your vehicle at/towards the end of the month AND end of the quarter (Sept), that is important. 6-8% off MSRP including fees is a really good deal, IMO. Good luck! Last edited by Chrisk03; May 7, 2017 at 01:36 PM.

MSRP: $67,525
Invoice: $62,866
7% off: 67,525 x 0.93 = 62,798.25

This is in the San Francisco East Bay area, where there are many MB dealers within an hour drive or so.

Have the options he wants and start the call/internet route for dealers outside the area, as others have suggested.
Keep in mind 2017s are done being built, so whatever is out there is it. There still may be some in transit to dealers, so check autotrader or another car site weekly. 2018s start production next month for probably August delivery, but order bank is open if he wants to go this route and order one. This gives the dealers a little more strength at this time, so you'll probably have to be a little more patient on a "deal".
Good luck!
