Keen to see which button they ditch from the console area.. Aus spec cars have all the buttons filled - no empty space.
There is no space missing on USA spec models either. They may do what was done on the C43/c63 cars which they replace the command on/off button with the performance exhaust button.
Notice the missing On/Off Command button that we currently have on our GLC43. Instead of having a dedicated on and off button, now they have to use the volumn up/down lever to scroll to off.

The On/Off button is definitely the logical one to make way for the exhaust button.
I will be happy to share my thoughts and post a video....
....after I take delivery next week . It arrived in Long Beach two days ago, my SA expects delivery to be no later than middle of next week. Then, I will be able to share my thoughts and look at doing a recording.
Did you ever pick up the car? If so, would love to hear the PE...

Not sure if you're following any of the other threads on here, but I posted in a couple others along with some other people on this forum and it seems a lot of our MY18 43's are being held at port for some sort of modification before being released. Updated expected date from my SA is end of August/Early September.. which seems to e fast approaching.

What is the right-bottom corner button for? It looks different to my GLC43 with a different icon?? Mine is for rising up the car (Air Body Control)

Yes - that's what shows up on my car..... so what is the other icon (original pic post)?
BTW, I seem to browse other posts and someone made a table compare the sound volume of std. vs AMG dynamic vs 3rd party perf. exhaust.... it seems the std. sounds at the same level as AMG dynamic with value open?! The AMG dynamic can turn it softer when driver choose to close the valve?? WHY? I thought we all like our AMG sounds meaner
I have to admit being skeptical of the claim that the perf exhaust sounds the same as the standard exhaust. Did the person in the post you mentioned use rigorous methodology to make that determination? ie: take all three cars, use a decibel meter and compare readings while accelerating, etc? I can say from first hand experience that in S+ with the fun button set to "on" when you drive hard, it is LOUD. Sounds exactly like it did in Mr. AMG's c43 coupe video actually.

This is from the other thread about GLC43 exhaust. See below link.
My GLC43 does NOT have the AMG performance exhaust...but I constantly hear exhaust sounds and pops at even in ECO or Comfort mode. It's not crazily loud but I mean it would be great if we can control and lower it a bit when driving in / out of the community... We can always let the baby sing at hwy or mountain roads

I was also curious since this option was not even available in Taiwan. I looked at various GLC43s, GLE43/63, E43, C43,63s Coupe AND Sedans. NONE of them had this button in Taiwan, at the dealership.
But at the same time it was hard for me to imagine that a 3.0 V6 could be much louder than it already was in Sport+.
I went to the AMG Performance Center last week with a client of mine, trying to kill some time before his flight. The sales told me that the exhaust valve function comes standard in some countries (i.e. Taiwan) but is built into the Sport+ mode. It may not have its own individual button in some territories.
I cannot confirm 100% sure if he is right or not, but I did notice that on MBUSA, the GLC43 comes standard with the PE.
In the US, the sport exhaust is standard and performance exhaust is an option. It’s explained above that the standard exhaust comes with a valve that’s adjusted with sport mode, and the performance exhaust is different and comes with another button controlled valve.
I have the performance exhaust on my 2018 GLC43. In comfort mode with the performance exhaust button off, the car is super quiet. With the performance exhaust button on, it gets louder. In sport mode, it also gets louder when the button is on vs off. I only have 250mi on th car so I haven’t pushed it yet to really hear what it can do.
Is that the Performance Exhaust on the GLC43? It looks the same as the non-performance exhaust. If possible can you take a better picture of the mid-section of the exhaust. I would like to see the resonator/Cat that has the piping from the engine going into it. Are dual piping coming in from the engine to the front of Resonator/CAT and dual piping coming out the rear? Or is it dual coming in and only a single pipe coming out?
Ok, so for the people who do not have performance exhaust, I can guarantee by how Mercedes-Amg setup looks, my aftermarket combination should be equal or louder than the performance exhaust version, minus being able to control muting the sound and/or keeping loud.
For my setup, I removed the resonator/cat and put straight pipes there and then added a Y-pipe. Now for axle back, it looks like Mercedes uses two 2inch pipes (maybe 2.25 piping) to the rear muffler. For the non-PE Mercedes uses one 3.0 inch pipe to the rear muffler.
I would love to do a side by side comparison. When I go get my Spoiler painted I we see if my dealer has a PE equipped truck on the lot and I will take videos to compare.
Thanks again Taphil! Now I know that you can put dual piping to the rear of the GLC43. I might actually do a custom setup and completely remove the rear muffler for two magnaflows smaller mufflers.
Ahh I see. Yea you are right, I have the AMG Sport Exhaust. How does having 2 pipes right before the muffler make the sound louder though? I would guess that it makes the sound more muffled, since both pipes are post combustion.
Now I am curious how the sports exhaust sounds compared to the performance exhaust.
Hmmmm. I wouldn’t be surprised that on the PE equipped trucks, that bigger exhaust pipe that has the valve on it is either closed or not fully open. Thus giving you the sound of the non-PE which is still pretty noisy when the exhaust button is off. Then when you hit the exhaust button the valves allows full air flow which gives you PE guys essentially a full dual setup from engine to rear-muffler.
I Know I probably won’t be able to replicate the AMG tuned sound but essentially, this exhaust setup can be replicated. I wonder how the PE exhaust would sound by removing the rear muffler with two smaller ones.
Taphil, you just opened up a can of worms. When the weather gets warmer over here on the east coast, I am going to do some experimenting.
Hi, I own a GLC 43 as well (received end of September after 7 months wait!!). Sadly, they don't offer the Performance Exhaust in Europe... The standard exhaust is rather nice but not enough to my taste.
I ordered a Supersprint catback (non-resonated) exhaust a bit more than one month ago. AMG Performance exhaust setup looks like the one of the Supersprint exhaust (except for valves of course): two pipes from the catalyser to the resonator/x section then two pipes again. Supersprint has actually a picture of their exhaust vs standard exhaust side by side on their website.
I took the non-resonated version (a resonator is also available) with the "sport" version of the muffler (didn't know what to expect from the "race" version so prefered to stay low profile). Delivery and install at the end of November. Will try to make a video.

I just drove the US spec with and without AMG performance exhaust back to back. With the PE button turned off the sound to me is nearly identical. I might even guess that the AMG PE with the baffle closed is quieter than the "standard" US spec exhaust. With the AMG button pressed the volume is the same but deeper in tone and the "fart" noise is much more pronounced. I don't mean that in a bad way, I was grinning every time I heard it. I was impressed with the system and sound changes. If I end up with one, I would definitely pay the extra for the AMG PE.
